We're from all over: East Coast, West Coast, Middle West. Fate (what else to call it?) brought us together in Asheville, NC. We are trying, as best we can, to go back to the first principles of rock'n'roll: Bring R&B and Country together and make something new. Like they say, it's all about the journey, not the destination. We are not trying to come up with a Sound. We're just doing whatever we can think of to put over a song.
And even though Larry and Ray can knock you over with their instrumental work, we're all about songs. Ray, Roanne, and Larry write--sometimes alone, sometimes in collaboration. We don't have a collective style; we're not that calculating. The downside is we're hard to categorize; the upside is our live shows are entertaining because we embrace variety: some songs explore the dark night of the soul; some are country-sassy; some just rock hard. And some are beyond category, incorporating bluegrass banjo and heavy funk, all in the same tune.
